Social networks Pinterest, Google+ and Twitter were among the big winners of this year’s Crunchies Awards announced Tuesday.

The annual awards show is hosted by influential technology blogs TechCrunch, GigaOm and Venturebeat and rewards the most compelling startups, internet innovations and technology products of the year.
File hosting startup Dropbox was awarded the coveted award for “Best Overall Startup,” while Apple’s intelligent voice recognition service Siri beat the innovative light field camera Lytro in the category of “Best Technology Achievement.”
The Nest smartphone-controlled thermostat was deemed the “Best New Device” in a category that included the Galaxy Nexus, the iPad 2, the iPhone 4S and the Kindle Fire.
Note-taking app Evernote won the award for “Best Mobile Application” and Google’s social network Google+ picked up the award for “Best Social Application.”
