"Though Sri Lankan policemen have been sent back from Coimbatore, I understand that training is continuing in some other state. Wherever the training is given in India, it will hurt the sentiments of Tamils," Vaiko told the Prime Minister in a telephonic conversation on Saturday.

Vaiko said in a statement in Chennai the Prime Minister assured him that he would consider his request.

He also requested Singh to give appointments to Tamil MPs of Sri Lanka who wished to meet him.

When the MDMK leader informed Manmohan Singh that the Tamil MPs would soon write to him seeking appointment, the Prime Minister promised to consider Vaiko's request, the statement said.
