PM lauded for peace treaty with Pakistan

Former Supreme Court Judge, VR Krishna Iyer on Saturday lauded Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, for extending a treaty of peace, security and friendship to Pakistan.

"You have put forward a positive proposition, a Peace Treaty between the two proximate countries. I hope the Pakistan President will respond with cultural comity," he said.

"The Kashmir issue has ruined our neighbouring countries the finest opportunities of being a near federal geography of human solidarity," he said.

"Hateful hostility, huge waste of countless destructive weaponry and inimical alienation of Nature's rare beauty have been the terrible price we have paid for decades for this folly," he said.
