Veteran Parliamentarian and Deputy Speaker of the dissolved Lok Sabha, who has been representing the Lakshadweep Islands for the last 35 years filed his nomination papers for the forthcoming polls, thus declaring his huge assets which stood at Rs 35 lakh.

Cash worth Rs 1.50 lakh, deposits in banks and financial institutions and NBFCs totalling Rs 68,436; agricultural landed properties worth Rs 4.64 lakh, wife had cash deposits of Rs 50,000 and other deposits of Rs 68,436; share of Rs 50 in the Lakshadweep cooperative marketing federation, Rs 1,52,979 in Public Provident Fund account; an old Maruti Esteem worth Rs 80,000; his wife has gold jewels worth Rs 1,15,200; owns four agricultural properties at Androth island valued at Rs 4.64 lakh.
His wife had landed property worth Rs 1.96 lakh; owns Rs.60,000 worth six cents of non agricultural land at Ernakulam which was purchased in 1990 at Rs 12,000 and two other properties at Androth were valued at Rs 22,923 and Rs 10,125.
Sayeed's two dependents had agricultural lands in Androth island valued totally at Rs 38,232. It was submitted that he had no commercial building.
He jointly owned a house at Delhi with his wife which was allotted under the MP housing scheme and was built at a cost of Rs 1.50 lakh . His wife also had a flat at Kochi which was now valued at Rs 8.50 lakh. Sayeed stated that no dues towards wealth, property and sales tax were pending either in his or his wife's name.
