Police work out jeweller?s murder case

POLICE CLAIMED to have worked out the murder case of a 50-year-old jeweller, Bhola Seth, that took place on Sunday night in Baragaon area and arrested four assailants including the brother-in-law of deceased. Police have also recovered a countrymade pistol, live and empty cartridges used in the murder.

POLICE CLAIMED to have worked out the murder case of a 50-year-old jeweller, Bhola Seth, that took place on Sunday night in Baragaon area and arrested four assailants including the brother-in-law of deceased. During police investigation, the cause of murder has come up as the fall out of a land dispute.

Bhola Seth had been shot dead by some men in Babatpur area on Sunday night.

Soon, after the murder, son of the deceased, Anil, had lodged an FIR against four named persons in connection with his father’s murder.

Superintendent of police (Rural) LK Singh had formed four teams of police personnel to nab the accused. After persistent raids, police arrested all the four accused and recovered a countrymade pistol used in the murder on revelation of the arrested persons.

The arrested include, Ramji Seth, brother-in-law of the deceased Ravi Shanker, Babuwa and Nagendra Pandey. Nagendra had opened his medical store on the disputed land. It is said that Bhola owned a piece of land along the roadside in Baragaon area.

His brother-in-law, Ramji, had taken illegal possession over the land.

Both of them had got engaged in scuffle several times back. For quite some time Bhola had been living in Sonebhadra district.

On Sunday, he bought some vegetables from Babatpur market and left for his village, Ramnagar in Baragaon area on a cycle.

In the meantime, the accused waylaid him and one of them shot at him from point blank range. He died on the spot.

One killed in accident
One person was killed and two others were seriously injured when a jeep hit their motorcycle in Kalhupur village on Varanasi-Jamania highway in Ghazipur district on Tuesday. The driver fled the scene. The injured have been admitted to the hospital.

According to information, 20-year-old Kanhaya along with his sister Rinku and a cousin were coming back to village, Yurajpur on a motorcycle. On their way, a jeep hit the motorcycle, causing death of Kanhaiya on the spot while his sister, Rinku and brother Manoj sustained severe injuries.
