They are waiting for the forensic test report of the fingerprints and other clues. Maharajpur SHO Shiv Mangal Singh informed mediapersons that they had detained one person for interrogation. He assured that the culprits would be nabbed soon.
Meanwhile, the bodies of Lallu Dixit and Savitri Dixit were cremated today after the autopsy report.
Relatives, too, are not sure about the reason for the murders. However, many among the cops and villagers suspect the Bawarias of masterminding the crime.
Many members of the Bawaria tribe are notorious for looting and killing people by strangulation. But since loot as a motive for the killings hasn’t been proved yet, it is hard to say that the murders were handiwork of the Bawarias.
Vinai Pandey, the son-in-law of the deceased, alleged the couple was killed for reasons of property. He ruled out loot as a motive as almost all valuables of the house were left untouched. He informed the police that his father-in-law had not prepared a will for his immovable properties and several of Lallu’s kin had an eye on them.
However, Seema Pandey, the victims’ daughter, could not give proper information about the valuables stolen.
Meanwhile, the post-mortem examination report hinted at the number of miscreants involved in the crime. Dr Sanjeev Kumar, who carried out the autopsy on the bodies, said 4-6 people were involved in the murder.
He said signs on the bodies suggested that the victims were pinned down by three to four miscreants, while another strangulated them.
Mastermind arrested The police claimed to have arrested two more accused, including the mastermind of the one-month-old sensational triple murder, here on Tuesday.
Working on the information given by the three accused held three days ago, the Kalyanpur police arrested Amit Gupta, son of Ashok Gupta alias Sonu, resident of Moti Mohal.
The police claimed that it was Amit Gupta who hatched the conspiracy to commit the murder and loot with.
He was eluding the police after his three friends were arrested.
The investigations said that although Amit was the nephew of Dr Shiv Kumari, he conspired to kill his aunt and her family members for money. The police worked out the case with the help of e- surveillance.
