Polling in Surat (West) postponed

Polling has been postponed in the Surat (West) constituency for the Dec 12 assembly elections following the death of the BJP candidate, who was also the state Law minister.

Polling was countermanded in Surat (West) constituency for the December 12 assembly elections following the death on Monday of Gujarat Minister of state for Law and BJP candidate Hemant Chapatwala who was in fray for the seat.

Surat district returning officer, in a release, said the new date for the elections would be announced later.
