Poor monsoon rains in the northern parts of India are a 'serious problem' but the government is ready with plans to deal with the weak rainfall, Farm Minister Sharad Pawar told the parliament.

"In case farmers have to go for sowing again, we have kept additional seeds with state governments," he said.
