With a low salary structure in the colleges, professors of L.P.Sahi college have even opted to run courier services to manage a proper livelihood.

One of such case is of Professor Suman Kumar, Head of the Psychology department in L.P.Sahi college, who was paid a very nominal wage initially but , later on, he was deprived of that too. Now to earn a proper living and fulfill his family's basic needs, he started a small General store along with a courier service.

"When I joined the college I used to get a very small salary but now too has stopped. Thus, I opted for part time job of general stores to sustain my family. We hold Bihar government responsible for our situation. We lived on the hope that the Government of Bihar will do something for us it has not done anything for us," says Suman Kumar.

Dr. Shiyaram Sharma, Head of the Department, Labour and Social Welfare, L.P.Sahi College , also started running a General store to earn bread and butter for his family. Sharma has been writing books on the labour movement and had also been associated with the Indian Institute of advance studies, Shimla in 2001.

"We are getting very less salary. Since 1984 we are fighting to get our salary increased but I lost the case. The Governor, Buta Singh, should think about our condition and do something to increase our salaries. I have written two books which have been published all over India. Tomorrow I can get ten books published but I am helpless," says Dr. Shiyaram Sharma, head of the Department, Labour and Social Welfare, L.P.Sahi College.
