Postage stamp on Naval air squadron released

A postage stamp commemorating 50 years of the Indian Naval Air Squadron-300, popularly known as 'The White Tigers', was released in Goa.

A postage stamp commemorating 50 years of the Indian Naval Air Squadron-300, popularly known as 'The White Tigers', was released in Goa.

Union Minister of State for Communications Gurudas Kamat released the stamp in the presence of Goa Governor S S Sidhu, Chief Minister Digambar Kamat, Assembly Speaker Pratapsing Rane, Navy chief Admiral Nirmal Verma and other senior Naval officers on Wednesday evening.

Sidhu unveiled the blow-up of the postal stamp and also released a coffee table book on INAS-300, an official release said here today.

Speaking on the occasion, Gurudas Kamat lauded the services rendered by the White Tigers over the last 50 years. "The INAS-300 was feared by the adversaries. It has won several laurel in serving the nation on board(aircraft carrier)`INS Vikrant', the Union Minister said.

The squadron represents the finest attributes of courage and professionalism, he added.
