Powerful bomb recovered in Thoubal, Manipur

The bomb found at roadside about 30 km south-east of Imphal suspected to have been planted by militants to attack security men.

A powerful bomb was found on Thursday at Yairipok area in interior Thoubal district of Manipur, official sources said.

The bomb, suspected to have been planted by militants to attack security men, was found at roadside at Yairipok, about 30 km south-east of Imphal, on Thursday morning.

The bomb was later defused by experts.

Sources said more than 20 powerful bombs, planted at different places in Manipur valley by militants targeting security forces, had been recovered and defused in the past some weeks.
