Prasar Bharti gross up 48%

Public broadcaster Prasar Bharti on Wednesday reported a 48 per cent increase in gross revenue at Rs 1,230 crore in 2005-06 fiscal against Rs 831.4 crore in the previous fiscal.

While Doordarshan clocked a gross revenue of Rs 960 crore at a growth of 43 per cent, All India Radio's revenue grew 67 per cent to Rs 268 crore.

Prasar Bharti also said that it will increase the number of TV channels on its DTH platform to 52 in 2006-07 from the current 33.
