Ad man Prasoon Joshi has been hired by the BJP to write slogans for its advertisement campaign. He will tell us why LK Advani makes the best Prime Minister and the BJP the best party.
The first — mazboot neta, nirnayak sarkar (strong leader, decisive government) — will hit the market from March 16.
Joshi’s services will be available through two agencies, Rama Luthra-led Frank Simoes and TAG with which Joshi is involved. Artistes like Shaan and Roop Kumar Rathod are also being hired for the songs.
Other slogans from Joshi’s stock include aap ka adhikaar, behtar sarkar (your right, better government) and agar sarkar me hai khot, jawab hai aapka vote (if the government is bad, the answer is your vote).
“The BJP has hired Frank Simoes, TAG and Utopia to get across its message on television, radio FM channels and the print media to woo voters,” party spokesperson Siddharth Nath Singh said.
The BJP will reach out to voters in 280 Lok Sabha constituencies through FM radio first, followed by hoardings across cities and towns. Advertisements in newspapers and television are slated only for later part of the campaign.
Radio emerged as the party’s favourite medium after its strategists realised that FM channels cover 280 of the 545 constituencies, mostly urban and semi-urban centres, which are also considered its sphere of influence.
