He is said to be “deeply unconscious” and has been put on life support.

Mahajan was taken to hospital after he complained of fatigue and severe headache at home, sources said.

Serving a life sentence at Nashik Central Jail for killing his brother, BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, in 2006, Mahajan fell unconscious at his residence in Thane around 9.30 p.m.

“He was giving an interview to a news channel, after which he collapsed due to high blood pressure. He was taken to a nearby hospital, which later asked him to be shifted to Jupiter Hospital,” said Mahajan’s brother-in-law Prasad Pullewar.

“He was brought in an unconscious state to the hospital and till now his condition has not improved... The results of the CT scan and blood tests showed that he was suffering from extensive pontine haemorrhage. He is currently on life support system,” said Dr Ravindra Ghawat.
