President, PM greet people on Baisakhi

President APJ Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh have greeted the people on the occasion of Baisakhi and said harvest festivals provide an opportunity to remember the contributions made by farmers.

President APJ Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh have greeted the people on the occasion of Baisakhi and said harvest festivals provide an opportunity to remember the contributions made by farmers.

Extending his greetings to the people particularly to those engaged in agriculture and cultivation, Kalam asked them to work hard to make the nation happy, peaceful and secured with prosperity.

"On this happy occasion, let us also open our hearts and share our happiness with those who are in need", he said.

Singh, in his message, said "these harvest festivals gives us an opportunity to salute our farmers for their great contribution to the Nation's food security".

He hoped that the festivals of Baisakhi and Mesadi would usher in peace, prosperity and happiness for all.
