Prez threat e-mail case: Youth sent on remand

Goyal was upset over his name being used by the NGO Sulabh International.

The youth, who sent President APJ Abdul Kalam a threat email, was on Friday sent to a day's police custody by a local court.

Sulabh Goyal, arrested in Indore on Wednesday and handed over to the Special Cell of Delhi Police, was produced before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Seema Maini, who remanded him to police custody for a day.

The police had sought a five-day custody of Goyal, a third year B.Com student, who had sent allegedly sent an e-mail to the President asking that Sulabh Shauchalayas be renamed as it was an insult to his name.

Goyal was upset over his name being used by the NGO Sulabh International and sent an e-mail to the President requesting that the name of the public conveniences be changed. When nothing happened in this regard, he sent the e-mail threat to the President.

Sulabh hails from Ashoknagar district in Madhya Pradesh.
