Gypsy glam came through the embellishments rather than the cuts. Threads, mirrors, rustic nomadic shells and beads, shimmering sequins, and gold embroidery inspired by Rajasthan and the mountains of Kashmir, Nepal and Tibet. Slim silhouettes replaced the original gypsy skirts and peasant sleeves made room for saucy tank tops.
The ensembles comprised of sumptuous layering of fabrics like tulle, chiffon, all over zardozi embroidered panels, cottons, and faux fur. There are kaftans, churidars, off shoulder dresses, easy calf length pajamas with cuffs, jackets, kurtas, cholis and long fishtail skirts.
Puri used rich earthy colours, beautiful silver jewellery and feminine fabrics like net, lace, georgette and pashmina to create a collection that is traditional and contemporary at the same time.
The collection was all about separate mixes and matches. Silhouettes were cut close to the body to accentuate the feminine form and made free use of rich burgandy colours mixed with chocolates, scarlet, topaz and corals.
No complicated shapes, no frills or a lot of fuss; just elegant and luxurious clothing.
