MEMBERS OF Uttar Pradesh Principals’ Council staged a dharna at Joint Director’s office and handed over a 20-point charter of demand to joint director to be forwarded to the chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav. They demanded full fledge status to the adhoc principals and to regularize the services of head of the educational institution serving on adhoc.

The secretary of the council, Gorakhnath Srivastav said that as per Central school, the same cadre should be made for principal of high schools and intermediate colleges. ‘The salaries should be at par with Central School’, he added. He demanded regularisation of the services of un-aided schools.
President of the council, Shivdutt Narain Singh demanded vice-principals post in all the school and 50 per cent post of the principal should be fulfill through promotion. He also demanded to extend the retirement age of principals should be 65 years. Leader of Principals’ Council, Dr Ajay Mani Tripathi blamed state government for adopting dilly-delaying tactics in resolving the demands of the council and said as per University Grant Commission, the Intermediate Education Commission should be constituted at state level.
