AS PART of her mission for world peace, singer Parvati Khan enthralled prisoners on the premises of Central Jail here on Friday by presenting a series of bhajans. She bagan the formal function of bhajans with presentation of ?Ganesh Vandana? and ?Gayatri Mantra?.

AS PART of her mission for world peace, singer Parvati Khan enthralled prisoners on the premises of Central Jail here on Friday by presenting a series of bhajans.
She bagan the formal function of bhajans with presentation of ‘Ganesh Vandana’ and ‘Gayatri Mantra’.
The sound of applause from thousands of prisoners rent the air when she sang the popular bhajan, ‘Ae maalik tere bande hum, aise ho hamare karam’, ‘ Jot se jot jagate chalo, prem ki Ganga bahate chalo’ and ‘Dama dum mast kalandar’.
Some prisoners accompanied Khan on tabla, harmonium and drums. Some of them also danced before the makeshift dais. Prior to the beginning of the formal programme, Parvati Khan addressed prisoners, and said: “Humanity is my religion.
I have come here to share your pain and provide you some moments of happiness.”
“As part of my mission for world peace, I have been extensively traveling to jails in different parts of the country. Recently, I performed amongst prisoners at Lucknow jail. I have also travelled all 12 Jyotilinghs in the country and the journey has brought tremendous change in my life,” she added.
