Angry activists of the Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha on Sunday burnt an effigy and tore a poster of Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat protesting her visit to the city for inauguration of a shopping mall.

The BJYM activists, led by Indore city Secretary, Rajesh Tanwar alleged that the actress was spreading "vulgarity" in the Indian society.

Earlier, Sherawat arrived in Indore amid tight security, including the Rapid Action Force, to inaugurate a newly constructed multiplex-cum-shopping mall.

A large number of Sherawat's fans had gathered at the venue to have a glimpse of the Bollywood sensation, who was rushed back to her hotel soon after the ceremony.
