Association President M.Narayanasamy told reporters in Puducherry on Sunday that the teachers here were on war path in support of their demands without regard for the impact of the strike and other agitations on the students of Classes X and XII during public examinations.

Narayanasamy called upon the administration to intervene immediately and clarify its stand in respect of the demands raised by the teachers.

He said disciplinary action should be taken against teachers drifting away from their duties and unemployed graduates awaiting teacher posting could be absorbed into schools to ensure that students did not face hardship due to the teachers agitations.

The teachers could launch their agitations after school hours or resort to judicial remedy for their grievances instead of dislocating the work in schools, Narayanasamy said.
