Punjab varsity honours Lord Paul
The Phd degree would be awarded to Lord Swraj Paul during the 3rd regular convocation of the University on February 17.
In recognition of his excellence in the field of manufacturing industry, NRI industrialist Lord Swraj Paul will be conferred upon with an honorary doctorate degree in engineering by Punjab Technical University.
The degree would be awarded to him during the 3rd regular convocation of the University on February 17 at the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education Research, Mohali, SK Salwan, Vice Chancellor of the University, said.
Lord Paul is the Chairman of the Caparo Group, a UK-based company specialising principally in the manufacture and supply of steel and engineering products for industry.
In a communication to Lord Paul, Salwan said, "It is a great pleasure and honour to inform you on behalf of Board of Governors, Academic council, PTU and on my personal behalf that His Excellency Governor of Punjab and Chancellor, Punjab Technical University has confirmed the award of degree of PhD (Honoris Causa) in Engineering to you."
