Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has announed an additional Rs 100 crore for the relief and rehabilitation of the flood-affected people in the state. Thus, the total amount sanctioned by the state government for flood relief has increased to Rs 230 crore after the flash flood claiming 139 lives in Rajasthan.

The Chief Minister on Wednesday visited the flood-affected Barmer district to review the relief work. 104 people lost lives in the floods in the district.
Raje asked the administration to ensure that the displaced people were provided food, shelter and clothes.
She also ordered the suspension of the loan repayment collection of gypsum mine owners and asked the authorities to assess the loss of grains stored in godowns in the submerged kawas village.
Raje also asked the district administration to dispose of the carcases of the livestock which perished before September 4 and ensure safe drinking water on a priority basis.
