A Delhi Court on Thursday deferred to July 10 decision on Rahul Mahajan's application for permission to go to Mumbai.
Additional Sessions Judge S N Gupta reserved the order on Mahajan's application after hearing heated arguments both from prosecution and defense sides.
The court also released Sahil Zaroo's Chevrolet car after verification of it's registration certificate issued in his father Ghulam Hassan Zaroo's name.
Mahajan's counsel Ramesh Gupta told the court that he has no accomModation in Delhi other than the 7, Safdarjung Road, allotted to his late father as an MP, for which he will now have to pay upto Rs two lakh in rent per month if he does not vacate the same.
Gupta further argued that Mahajan has always cooperated with the investigation and his grandmother is ill for which he has to be in Mumbai.
Gupta also expressed Mahajan's willingness to give an affidavit to the effect that he would vacate his late father's official residence within ten days.
The prosecution vehemently opposed the application on the ground that Mahajan if allowed to go to Mumbai, will tamper with the evidence available in Mumbai and there always has been interference in the investigation from the accused person's side. They have objected to even the videography being done.
