Rahul to stay in Rae Bareli till poll

CAMPAIGNING FOR the May 8 Lok Sabha by-election here has started gaining momentum. Congress convener for this election and Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi will remain present in Rae Bareli from April 25 till the election to co-ordinate campaigning, according to Congress media in-charge Indresh Vikram Singh here today.

CAMPAIGNING FOR the May 8 Lok Sabha by-election here has started gaining momentum. Congress convener for this election and Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi will remain present in Rae Bareli from April 25 till the election to co-ordinate campaigning, according to Congress media in-charge Indresh Vikram Singh here today.

The party has divided the entire Rae Bareli parliamentary constituency into 74 sectors for campaigning. The Congress has appointed Jamwal co-ordinator for Dal Mau Assembly segment whereas Kanishka has been appointed for Sareni, Ram Krishna for Bachharawan and Manoj Mattoo for Rae Bareli Sadar Assembly segment. Women workers of Congress are being activated and motivated by Vijayamurtiji.

Rahul Gandhi may be later joined by sister Priyanka Vadera. In the first week of May, Sonia Gandhi herself will stage a roadshow in Rae Bareli.

Meanwhile, Rae Bareli unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party today organised a workers’ meeting for all the five Assembly segments where BJP candidate Vinay Katiyar made his surprise presence. BJP district president, Sushil Sharma said Katiyar would campaign for all the five Assembly segments of Rae Bareli parliamentary constituency on April 25 and 26.

In the meantime, Uma Bharati and Sonelal Patel are campaigning for their candidate, Prabha Singh, from village to village. The last date for withdrawal of names is on April 24. From April 25 campaigning for Lok Sabha by-election will gain full momentum.
