Rai murder: Jeeva to be produced in court on June 7

HARDCORE JAILED criminal from Western UP, Sanjeev Maheshwari alias Jeeva, would be produced in a court at Ghazipur on June 7 in connection with the sensational murder of BJP MLA, Krishnanand Rai and six others last year.

Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Preeti Srivastava has granted the application of investigating officer of the murder case, NP Singh on Tuesday to bring the accused from jail in New Delhi to a court in Ghazipur on the basis of Warrant - B.
Jeeva had been arrested by cops of the crime branch of New Delhi in outer Delhi on May 14.

Besides, MLA, Mukhtar Ansari, SP MP Afzal Ansari and his brother-in-law, Ezaj Ansari are also accused and jailed in Ghazipur jail for the same murder case. One of the accused and hardcore criminals of Rae Bareli, Firdaus had already been shot dead by UP and Maharashtra police recently in Mumbai. Munna Bajrangi and
Ataurrahman have been absconding.

It may be noted that the BJP MLA had been shot dead by a group of motorcycle-borne people, equipped with sophisticated firearms in Mohammadabad legislative constituency area of Ghazipur on November 29.

Making the mass murder a prestige issue, BJP’s general secretary Raj Nath Singh had gone on an indefinite dharna for a fortnight at district HQ in Varanasi from
November 30.
