Resident of Gyanpur Bhadohi, Vineeta, (name changed) had been married this month to a youth working in Delhi. Her two brothers had gone to fetch her for the first time after her marriage. At Delhi station Vineeta’s brothers met this guard who told them that they would reach early in case they boarded the Shiv Ganga. Though the young men had tickets for another train but they changed their minds on the guard’s insistence.
The guard asked the youth to sit in the general compartment and took Vineeta to the ladies’ compartment. When the train reached Kanpur in the wee hours, the guard asked Vineeta to come to his bogey for a more comfortable seat.
However, the guard started misbehaving with her the moment she entered. As the guard made an attempt to hold her, Vineeta jumped from the train which had started moving.
