Rajeev Arya gets young scientist award

RAJEEV ARYA, faculty member of the mechanical engineering department of the University Institute of Technology of the Barkatullah University, has received the Young Scientist Award of the MP Council of Science and Technology for the year 2006.

RAJEEV ARYA, faculty member of the mechanical engineering department of the University Institute of Technology of the Barkatullah University, has received the Young Scientist Award of the MP Council of Science and Technology for the year 2006.

The award was presented during the 21st young scientist congress hosted by the Awadesh Pratap Singh University, Rewa. Arya presented a research paper in the field of wind energy on the topic ‘design, development, fabrication and performance testing of modified vertical axis savonius rotor wind turbine’.

The award includes Rs 5000 in cash, a certificate and a memento. Arya would also be entitled to visit any national laboratory or research centre in India to further carry out his research work.

Prof R S Sirohi, vice-chancellor of BU and Dr S C Soni, director of the UIT have congratulated the young scientist on his achievement.
