Rajnath to announce his team after January 20
New BJP President Rajnath Singh said he would announce his team of office-bearers only after Jan 20.
New BJP President Rajnath Singh on Thursday said he would announce his team of office-bearers and the national executive only after the party's National Council meeting on January 20 in New Delhi.
Singh will also announce the state unit presidents of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar.
The January 20 meeting of the Council is scheduled to ratify the appointment of Rajnath Singh as President of the party.
Talking to newspersons, Singh clarified that he was a great believer in Hindu faith and decided to wait for auspicious days which would begin with 'Makar Sankaranti' on January 14.
Asked why he had taken over the charge before January 14, he said he had taken care of the auspicious time on that day.
The new BJP President ducked all questions regarding who would make it to the Executive and whether it would a mixture of old and young leaders.
He said it would not be good for him to disclose anything at this moment. "But I would like to tell you that I am getting cooperation from all," he said.
