Rajus' plea against CBI custody deferred

The Andhra Pradesh High Court deferred its decision for tomorrow on a petition filed by Satyam founder Ramalinga Raju and others questioning lower court's order granting their custody to the CBI.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday deferred its decision for tomorrow on a petition filed by Satyam founder Ramalinga Raju and others questioning lower court's order granting their custody to the CBI.

After hearing the applications filed by Rajus and former auditors of PriceWaterhouse, High Court judge KC Bhanu adjourned the matter for further hearing and orders for Friday.

The XIV Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate-- the designated court of CBI cases-- hearing the case pertaining to Rs 7,800-crore financial fraud in Satyam Computers, had granted custody of the Satyam accused to CBI from March 10 to March 17.

CBI took over the case from the Andhra Pradesh CID last month.

Following the order, CBI sleuths has taken the custody of Ramalinga Raju, his brother and former Satyam Managing Director Rama Raju, former CFO of the company Vadlamani Srinivas, suspended partners of PriceWaterhouse S Gopalkrishnan and Talluri Srinivas.
