His interests include steel, food and beverage, IT, healthcare, media, aviation, realty, hospitality, education and tea gardening. He has major shares in Anant Media Private Limited, which publishes Tehelka magazine. In July this year, he was elevated as president of the Indian Hockey Federation (IHF).

In June this year, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has asked Alchemist Infra Realty Limited, part of the multi-crore Alchemist Group, was asked to wind up all its ‘collective investment schemes’ and refund about Rs. 1,000 crore to investors, chiefly from Madhya Pradesh.
