Rana and Rajpal to perform yagya at Sangam

Silver screen's known character artistes Rajpal Yadav and Ashutosh Rana visited Allahabad on Wednesday. No,not for shooting for a Bollywood flick, but for a religious purpose. They met the District Magistrate and mela officer at the Sangam area with a proposal for allotment of a plot of land in the mela area during Ardh Kumbh which will be used to perform a yagya. According to the duo, the yagya will be conducted by their spiritual guru from Mumbai.

They met the District Magistrate and mela officer at the Sangam area with a proposal for allotment of a plot of land in the mela area during Ardh Kumbh which will be used to perform a yagya. According to the duo, the yagya will be conducted by their spiritual guru from Mumbai.

The nine-day religious ritual will start from January 15 and continue till January 23. During the event, there will be the target of constructing 1.25 crore shivlings. There is also the target of building more than ten lakh shivlings in a day.

Any person with the religious bent of mind could participate in the process, added the artistes.

Sacred soils of Sangam attracted the Bollywood stars who took a round of the mela area and also took a few photographs.

Known to have created magic on the silver screen with their powerful roles, both Ashustosh Rana and Rajpal Yadav refused to answer any query related to their professional life as actors.

They will be revisiting Allahabad on January 7.

It is to be noted that both the artistes had performed similar religious rituals during the Kumbh Mela in 2001.
