Maoists fired at a patrolling party of the joint security forces in West Midnapore district on Thursday.
The securitymen were on a search operation in a forested area in Banisole near Dharampur, where a camp of the joint forces is located, police sources said.
The forces retaliated. Three landmines exploded. There were no casualties.
