Commissioner RK Mittal, who held a meeting in this connection with senior officials on Tuesday, said that instructions had been given to all District Magistrates to provide free travel facility to the political detainees, who would be attending the function. “These people should be allowed free travel in state transport carriers including the air-conditioned ones on the basis of their identity card provided to them by the authorities of their respective districts,” Mittal added.

LDA Vice Chairman BB Singh, also present, was asked to issue instructions to ensure that no bookings were made by the LDA for its various community centers on the day of the ceremony. These community centers would be used for providing accommodation to the participants coming from the adjoining districts and other parts of the State.
Apart from honouring these “fighters for democracy” with a certificate for their commendable services, the CM would also provide them a monthly honorarium of Rs 500 from April 1, according to the Commissioner. He said that so far 160 such people from Lucknow, 147 from Kheri, 150 from Sitapur, 28 from Unnao, Harodi-130 and 105 from Rae Bareli had given their consent for attending the function. The function, all preparations for which are being made by the LDA, would be held at a park near Lohia Vidhi Sansthan on Kanpur Road. Besides, DM Ramendra Tripathi and DMs of Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Rae Bareli and Unnao, SSP GK Goswami and ADM (executive) NP Singh attended the meet. HTLC
