But it is quite unfortunate that the institute which has 1700 branches worldwide, lacks a well-equipped auditorium. Multiple music conferences and other events graced by the renowned artistes has already been conducted at the main hall of Prayag Sangeet Samiti but sans the proper facilities which is vital to host such significant events. As of now, in view of the approaching music conference and competitions which is scheduled to be held from February 21, the management is all greared up and the renovation of the main hall is already taking place since past one week. But still the facilities will not be able to match up to the required standards.

JN Chaturvedi, secretary Prayag Sangeet Samiti said, the ceilings are being renovated, the side walls are reconstructed which had fallen prey to termites and the chairs too are being repaired. "The entire budget will sum up to Rs one lakh", he added.

The most vital characteristic of any auditorium is its sound proofing. "It requires a lot of money and we are lacking in that front since we do not receive any fund or aid whatsoever from the Central Government or the State Government. With the lowest fees charged by us from our students, we are able to manage somehow", he added.

"A proposal had been sent to the Chief Minister last year in which I had demanded several facilities such as sound system, visual recording system, sound proofing of the main hall, installation of AC, construction of a studio and construction of a hostel. But no reply has been sent till now. The proposal summed upto Rs one crore 15 lakhs", he said. Due to lack of any visual recording system, the Samiti is unable to maintain a proper record of the visuals of the events held there. "This has created an obstacle towards maintaining a proper library for the students", said Chaturvedi. However, he confirmed of arranging for the latest sound equipment for which a skilled person had already been appointed to handle it. "We are hopeful of completing the renovation work before February 21", he said.
