Reopen Meher case, punish killer: Lav

CHIEF TRUSTEE of Meher Bhargava Foundation Lav Bhargava on Friday alleged that former SSP of Lucknow Ashutosh Pandey misguided the media and people on Meher murder. ?The case should be reopened and killer of Meher should be punished,? he said. After killing of one of the accused Sachin Pahari in police encounter, Pandey had said that the killer of Meher had been eliminated and closed the case. But the fact is that Pahari was one of the conspirators.

After killing of one of the accused Sachin Pahari in police encounter, Pandey had said that the killer of Meher had been eliminated and closed the case. But the fact is that Pahari was one of the conspirators. Four persons, including Sunny Rawat, Pramod Singh, JP and KD Singh were also accused in the case.

While Rawat is lodged in the jail, remaining accused are roaming freely. Though the police has filed charge sheet but the charges against accused are yet to be framed, he rued and added that all the accused had been identified by the witness of the Meher murder case.

The police tried all the tricks to make the case weak, so that culprit could get the benefit, Lav alleged. Sunny Rawat was the one who shot at Meher and he must be punished like the killer of Priyadarshni Matoo. The case should be transferred to the fast track court and pessure should be built up by the people to ensure that Meher gets justice and her killers are nabbed.
