Residents demand compensation for minor rape victim

It may be noted that Rubi (name changed) was raped by a 20-year old youth, Vinod, in Danupur village on August 28 evening. The accused was arrested by the cops on Wednesday. The victim girl with severe internal injury has been undergoing treatment in the district women’s hospital.

According to information, villagers led by Sahdeo Yadav, father of the victim and a former municipal corporator, Sanjay Yadav, marched to the district headquarters from Danupur village. The demonstrators handed over a charter of demands, addressed to the governor and chief minister, to a representative of the district magistrate.

The demands included administrative compensation to the father of the victim, who has been battling for life in the hospital, and shifting of criminal case against the accused to the Fast Track Court to get him awarded capital punishment.
