According to sources a water supply scheme was sanctioned a couple of years ago, after conducting a proper survey. The work was executed by the department concerned and huge amount was spent on this scheme.

The scheme was completed up to Melan village, where more then six public health engeneering (PHE) water supply schemes were launched, but only few of them are functional. The PHE authorities, instead of diverting the scheme to Lower Usdhara, routed it to the Melan village.

The people of Lower Usdhara village and its adjoining areas had also protested against the PHE authorities over this issue. The villagers alleged that the it was negligence and breach of trust on the part of the PHE department.

The residents, in this connection approached minister for home Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo and several other high officials for immediate action and justice. The sarpanches are member of legislative council (MLC) and several political leaders have also directed the PHE authorities to provide safe drinking water to the inhabitants of Lower Usdhara.
