Chairman of moderate faction of Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umer Farooq on Friday asked people to have patience and remain steadfast in the ongoing struggle, saying "the resolution of Kashmir issue might take some more time".
"The Kashmir is a known issue and everyone is aware about this problem. Its resolution might take some more time but we have to remain steadfast in our struggle, maintain unity and keep patience," Mirwaiz said addressing a Friday congregation at Jamia Masjid in downtown city.
Mirwaiz, who recently visited foreign countries including Saudi Arabia, said "the situation in the world is different today...Earlier, we used to brief the people about Kashmir issue but today the people with the grace of almighty Allah are already aware of the issue. This is because of the immense sacrifices rendered by the Kashmiris."
"Our struggle is based on truth, justice and principles and bound to succeed," he said stressing the need for unity among the separatist camps.
"We have single aim and goal which is resolution of Kashmir issue in accordance to the wishes and aspirations of the people. We should strive for it unitedly," he said.
Expressing concern over the global warming, the Hurriyat chairman urged people to pray for a change in the prevailing weather conditions.
"The scant snowfall and rains during the past few months is indicative of an alarming situation. The temperature is above normal. We need to look into the reasons, undo our wrongs and bow before the almighty to seek his blessings," he said.
