The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) on Saturday got an FIR lodged at Civil Line police station against the showroom owner for continuing construction work on top of his three-storey building in violation of a court order.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has stayed any construction work in the 900-metre radius from the boundary of the ammunition depot. It also directed the local administration to file an affidavit of action taken report in the court every month.

The violation of court order is common in the restricted zone. As many as 85 FIRs have been registered in the past two years.

"We are vigilant to such illegal constructions and we have been taking strong action against the offenders in the area," said a senior MCG official.

Despite repeated attempts, the owner of the Nokia Care showroom refused to talk to Hindustan Times over the issue.

Local police, who have been openly conniving with owners, in this particular case denied construction work was underway.
