RGPV softball team leaves for Chandigarh

THE SOFTBALL team of Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV) left the State capital today to participate in the All India Inter- University Softball Tournament to be played in Chandigarh.

According to the RGPV sports officer Firoz Zaidi recently a selection camp was organised in LNCT. University received overwhelming response in the camp, he added. RGPV Vice- Chancellor Prof MC Gupta, registrar PN Joshi and DSW Dr AK Singh distributed tracksuits to the team and extended their good wishes.

Regarding expectations from the team in the tournament, Zaidi said that the recent performance by the baseball team in the All India Championship organised in Rohtak has motivated the softball team to bring laurels to the State.

He further said that university would organise national sports events in the future.
