Various websites source and deliver meals from eateries across Mumbai. But attempts to go the extra mile. With their own kitchens and a select menu, the intention of this new service is to make planning house parties easier than before. “There was an increase in house parties (with the crackdown on the city’s nightlife over the last few months), it is around then that the concept of this ‘online restaurant’ evolved,” says Gautam Gupta, director,

While most of the items on the menu can be customised as per the tastes of the patron, the initiators of this site also hope they can offer the city a cheaper alternative for bulk orders. “Our motto is not that much about profit making, but more about serving good quality food,” adds Gupta. Currently, the website offers cuisine options like Thai, Mughlai, Chinese and Mexican. The ‘food by the kilo’ system of late has become popular with retail restaurants like A Taste Of India (in Kandivali) and Icy Spicy (in Mahim). But, Bombay Belly does not have any retail outlets yet. “This may be something we will consider once the brand is properly established, which will only happen if the food is good,” he says.

The website accepts orders a day in advance as the ovens located in the kitchens in Malad are freshly fired for each preparation.
