Pandey was expressing his views at the Gorakhpur Journalists' Association Conference Hall after inaugurating a two-day seminar on the occasion of Premchand's 125th anniversary celebrations.

He further said the freedom movement had promoted nationalism. He said Premchand had depicted the life of the most deprived class of the society. He said Premchand was different from other writers. Janwadi Lekhak Sangh president Badshah Husain Rizvi spoke about the effect of Gandhism and Premchand's literature.
