CRACKS HAVE surfaced in the district unit of the VHP following resignation of office-bearers to vent their ire over alleged arbitrary attitude of divisional incharge secretary Chandrashekhar.

Regional organising secretary of VHP Mahavir Prasad and Shiv Narain Singh have resigned from their respective posts. They blamed the divisional incharge for working against the interests of VHP.

In fact divisional incharge Chandrashekhar has earlier removed division secretary Prem Narain Bhatt, coordinator Atul Kumar Bhatt, secretary Vinay Sharma and Udai Pratap Mall from their respective posts. The removal triggered off serious resentment in the district unit of VHP. Mahavir Prasad has also blamed Chandrashekhar for ignoring the VHP activists.

Talking to Hindustan Times, Mahavir said the controversy was erupted when Chandrashekhar invited the president of non-government organisation Lok Abhiyan and former V-C of DDU Gorakhpur Prof Radhemohan Mishra as a special guest for the programme of international secretary of VHP, Praveen Togadia.

Manavir and Vinay Kumar Sharma said the Lok Abhiyan was worst for the welfare of the minority people. Dr Aziz Ahmad is president of the organisation and Mohd Azam Khan, an industrialist of Gorakhpur, along with Syed Akhtar Ali are the secretary of the organisation. He further said Dr Surhita Karim was an executive member of the organisation; therefore, the invitation to the president Radhemohan Mishra, who is closed to the minority community leaders, was unjust.

They also blamed the divisional incharge of VHP for misusing funds collected in the name of Dharma Raksha. They also said that the appointment of those people who were involved in various irregularities on key post of the organisation was another point of resentment in the organisation.

They said divisional incharge Chandrashekhar had become a puppet in hand of secular forces and he had deviated from the main stream of VHP.
