Dubbing Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's vikas yatra "a drama", opposition RJD on Sunday said the Chief Minister planned to undertake the march from January 19 to hide his government's failure on all fronts. "This is nothing but a drama and sheer waste of money", and was being done for votes as the general elections were round the corner, Shakeel Ahmed and Ram Kripal Yadav told reporters in Patna.

Ridiculing Kumar's plan to stay in a Swiss tent, they said, "When the chief minister could not do much in the comforts of the CM's residence it will be interesting to see how many cases he would dispose while living in tents." They also mocked at the much-hyped 'Janata Darbar' held by Kumar during the past three years of NDA regime. The state government instead of feeding the empty stomach of Mahadalits was claiming to provide TV and radio sets, which would serve no purpose, they said.

Bihar government had presented a Rs 17,000-crore proposal before the central team when it was on a visit to the state recently to assess the damage by the Kosi floods, but it did not specify the department wise break-up to the team, the leaders said.
