"Atrocities on farmers under Bahujan Samaj Party's rule is continuing, and in present situation the President's rule would be the only alternative left in Uttar Pradesh," RLD leader Ajit Singh told reporters last evening at Sisoli village here.
Asked about the move to arrest Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) President Mahendra Singh Tikait for allegedly making casteist remarks against Mayawati, he said, "farmers would not bear the arrest of their leader and a massive movement would be launched against it."
