The procession was taken out in support of their 20-point demands and an indefinite strike called by them. The processionists went via Railway Institute, office of the divisional railway manager, the railway electrification, Civil Lines, Subhas Crossing and Traffic Colony. The procession concluded at Loco Colony.
A meeting was held afterwards, in which branch secretary Radha Raman Mishra said the demands were valid and politicians should raise and support them in Parliament and other relevant forums.
“However in case the demands are not met, a date will be fixed for a nationwide strike in the conference to be held on January 15. This strike will surpass the one in 1974,” he said.
