Roddick enters 3rd round in straight sets

American sixth seed Andy Roddick beat Frenchman Marc Gicquel in straight sets to reach the third round of the Australian Open here today.
Roddick downed Gicquel, 6-3, 7-6 (7/4), 6-4 and will play either Russian 2005 Open winner Marat Safin or Israeli Dudi Sela in the next round.
