According to police, the complainant, Vipin Bihari Vajpayee, a resident of Nehru Nagar, had booked rooms in the hotel for his daughter’s marriage.

The jewellery was kept in room number 103. Vajpayee told police that the family members had locked the room and gone out for ceremony. On their return they found gold jewellery including rings, four chains, four bangles, nose rings and other ornaments stolen. The ornaments were valued at approximately Rs 1 lakh.

Earlier, on December 16, the police had received a similar complaint from the same hotel. A suitcase containing jewellery was allegedly unlocked and ornaments were stolen. The police had then also registered a case.
