The injured person identified as Oman Khan, shot twice by the miscreants, was rushed to the SRN hospital. His condition was described as stable.

A large crowd and scores of passersby assembled at the place when cops came in and started questioning another victim of the loot who was riding the mobike on which Oman was sitting.

Sandeep Das working as accountant at a sales promotion outlet of Prism Cement in Katra told cops that he was heading to the HDFC Bank to deposit the cash when the incident took place. The miscreants who were following Sandeep and Oman on a mobike overtook them near the second gate of the school towards Dhobi Ghat and in the process shot at Oman who was sitting on the pillion. With the bullet lodged in his waist Oman shouted for help. By this time Sandeep who was driving realised what had happened. As a result he stopped the mobike and leaving the vehicle on roadside ran and jumped the gate of the Principal's residence. While one miscreant followed him the other one was after Oman who had run a little further towards the school gate.

This miscreant fired two more shots at Oman.

He was hit with the second bullet in the hand. After this both the miscreants returned to the mobike abandoned by Sandeep and opened the tool box to take out the cash. With money tucked in their pockets they sped away.

Meanwhile, Samajwadiparty leader Mushtaq Kazmi who was an eye witness to the incident thought the shooting was taking place for murder. As a result he rushed to the SSP's office for help. Struck with awe over the manner in which the miscreants committed the loot, he said they appeared fearless of the large number of commuters who are always on this road during working hours.
